Tonight I’m eating a bowl of ginger-peach crisp for dinner. I made it right after I cleaned the entire kitchen (even wiping the walls and cupboards!) because I know my mum thinks of the kitchen as a blessed place, a sanctuary. So that was my gift to her (along with a swirling watercolour tree card).
It was a peaceful day full of cooking and music. The wind gusted outside and the skies were dark. The wild weather calms me.
Today I was reminded to always eat oil with your salad.
That the left side of my body carries the most scars.
I am not required to maintain any sort of relationship with someone who gives me toxic emotions.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
Stay true to your self. Separate your desires from your ego and your image. What do YOU want for YOURSELF?
I am a blessed being. I have grown up in a wildly eccentric, open, supportive family. My mother is the backbone and the definition of resilient.
I love her so dearly.
